Due to changes of course i want to do in university i have decided to focus on something else for my extended project. As i want to now study psychology with child development.
For my extended project i have decided to focus on children who are brought up institutions also who suffer from deprevation, manily im going to look at sensitve cases such as 'Genie' and 'the romanian orphane'. I want to study how they attach and also their peer relationships when they get adopted and what their behaviour is like as they grow up. Most of my research i will get from research done by other psychologists.
Also i will be looking at what type of condition the child grew up in wether this affects what kind of person there will be in later life.
Are there any particular psychologists you will be researching into? If so can you summarise what their main theories were and any research that they were known for.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of research do you intend to do yourself into this area as it will be difficult to get research into current cases due to data protection and child protection. Could you contact organisations to find out why children are removed from families, for example, what factors need to be present in order for social services to intervene? Could you research into Social Services and evaluate whether this is successful as it has recently come under severe criticism.
